The Time Is Now....

Updated: Jun 29

"Where else would you rather be than right here, right now?" Marv Levy

Time is infinite for the soul but finite for man. Man marks time in many ways and the span of a man's life varies under the sovereign hand of God. From the moment one draws breath the clock of their expiration starts. So what is the measure of a man? Is it not in large part what he or she does with the time God gives them?

So much time is wasted and lost. Each moment we will never get back. Distractions of pleasure and vice abound to help create the illusion that time doesn't march forward. We aren't guaranteed tomorrow so why squander today?

The clock of our lives has no time-outs, no pauses for the replay referee. It is constantly ticking towards its conclusion. For many, this is depressing because they have no purpose, ambition, drive, or dreams. For others, they are stuck looking back while life races forward. Still, others like slaves to endless excuses mock the Creator as they perfect the art of being poor stewards of this amazing gift we call life.

Who is the keeper of time? God knows the end from the beginning. He is in complete control. Does time hold any surprises for God? Yes, our paths are marked by much but they are governed by time. The Bible urges believers to..

"Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil." Ephesians 5:15-16

We must redeem the time that we have squandered, that has been stolen, that we have misused, that we have lost, that has escaped our grasp. Why? Not for our ends but as a means for the ends of God. Instead, let us make the most of every opportunity, and use time as a tool of efficiency, a vehicle of purpose, and a conduit to experience the great blessings of God as a result of making the best use of it.

When the stopwatch on your life is pressed, the dirt is spread over you, and the stone above marks your time....if the dash between your birth and death could speak what would it say? Life is precious. Each moment is a gift. We may not know how much time we have but it's up to us how we will spend our time.

As followers of Christ, God desires to help us find purpose, to live intentionally, to LIVE victorious lives filled with hope, love, and joy!!! Now go! Make the most of your life! Dream big dreams. Stop living by fear and live by faith. Cut out the meaningless saboteurs of time in your life that make you a slave to mediocrity and laziness. Stop allowing yourself to be lulled into distraction after distraction via media, news, sports, etc.. that has made you someone who excels at being physically present but emotionally absent while time slips through your hands like sand. Stop making excuses for why you can't and trust God to give you all you need to accomplish the seemingly impossible. Stop being a victim of time and be a victor in time. Stop looking at the giants and shrinking back in fear and start looking at the One who can help you defeat the giants. Stop letting yesterday's successes keep you from taking risks and pursuing new heights today. Follow hard after the things of God. By the help of God do what God put you on this earth to do. Redeem the time! Stop looking back. Move forward! Take action. THE TIME IS NOW!!!!

"For I know the plans I have for you, "declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
