Where Are The Great Men?....

Does a title make a man great? Does his influence or abilities make him great? Does fame, fortune, and accomplishment make a man great? What makes a man truly great?

Great men are weighed and measured in the balance of the Almighty. They are born out of the crucible of God's choosing and sculpted in His image. They are reflections of the character of God to those among them and driven by the pursuit to know Him the one who is called the "Great I Am."

Great men stand upon the foundation of Christ and use their talents and abilities to establish a bulwark of truth for society. They are men of integrity, wisdom, honor, and humility. Their strength is derived from the inexhaustible storehouse of provision the Holy Spirit imparts to all who ask. They are courageous, unwavering, relentless, & bold in carrying out God's unique purpose and plan for their lives.

Great men know the times in which they live. They are not fooled by those who masquerade as angels of light. They are protectors of the flock of God from the wolves that would seek to scatter, isolate, and kill them. They see through the cleaver appeals to compromise and the carefully designed schemes of wicked men. They stand on their convictions even if they are the only one...if it costs nothing or everything.

Great men are men of compassion and mercy. They look beyond the kabuki theatre of affluence and see the hurting, the diseased, the lost, the broken, the weak, and the discouraged. They exhibit unconditional love but are quick to protect others from injustice. They have the heart of a lion. They are courageous and do not shrink back from doing what is right. They are a voice for the voiceless and are not afraid to wage war when God commands them to throttle the wicked. They judge fairly and do not make decisions out of fear or rashly.

Great men are men of prayer. They know the heart of God and where He is headed. They are in close relationship with God and hear God's voice. They are men of supernatural joy that is not dependent on happenings or removed by sorrow. They are leaders for their communities, their companies, and their families. They run from temptation and pursue righteousness. They are not men of pride. They fail but never fail to get back up. They recognize their shortcomings but work to demonstrate excellence in all they do. They pursue greatness while exhibiting humility not how men define it but how God defines it.

Great men dream big dreams. They take calculated risks and they defy the logical. They are men of faith. They wait on God and don't try and get ahead of Him. They are committed, unwavering, and dogged in their passion to accomplish what God has born in their hearts to accomplish. They are men of their word and men of upstanding character. They are men who use their unique talents, abilities, and gifts to produce, contribute, and make better their lives, their families, & society for God's glory.

The world, our nation, our cities, our towns, our suburbs, our churches, our courts, our schools, our companies, our government, our land....we need more great men! Where are the great men?.....God in your mercy, when my days reach their end, let it be said of me that I was a great man....May You, in this time, raise up an army of great men. Amen
